The information we collect about you helps us to clarify your needs so we can look after you better. We use this information to personalise your experience when you visit us but we do not sell or disclose this information to any third parties.

 

Masterton Foot Clinic takes serious measures to protect your privacy and confidentiality. We understand that users that visit, purchase or make a booking from our site want to know that their data will not be used for any purpose unintended by them, and will not fall into the hands of a third party.   1. As registered health professionals in New Zealand, we abide strictly by the Code of Health and Disability Services Consumers’ Rights 
  2. As registered podiatrists, we also abide by and answer to podiatry-specific codes including the Principles & Standards for the Practice of Podiatry in New Zealand and the Podiatrists Board of NZ Ethical Codes and Standards of Conduct
  3. While protecting our community and patients is our priority and we never share, sell or disclose your information in any unintended way to a third party, as with any website or online medium, information may be unlawfully obtained  by hackers. We take all reasonable precautions to protect your information and will advise you as soon as possible if we believe your information has been compromised. We take no responsibility for any losses you may incur as a result of this

 

Here is a list of the information we collect and why it is necessary to collect it:

  1. Basic identification – like your name and contact details 

Basic identification information collected includes your name, address, telephone number, address, birthdate and email address

This is used:

  • To provide you with the services which you request;
  • To maintain our accounts;
  • For billing;
  • To enable us to answer your enquiries;
  • For verifying your identity for security purposes;
  • For marketing our services and products;
  • To help make our website as useful to you as possible

In person

We collect information including medical histories, names of any health service provider or medical specialist to whom the patient is referred, copies of any letters of referrals and copies of any reports back. This and any other personal information provided by our patients, other referring service providers, or providers on their behalf with patient consent, is used solely to provide you with the treatment and services that have been requested. This information is not given to or used by third parties, unless medically required, like for referral to a medical specialist or other health service provider.

Online

When you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through our website, we collect certain information from you, including your name, billing address, shipping address, payment information (including credit card numbers) email address, and phone number.  We refer to this information as “Order Information.”

This information is only available to Masterton Foot Clinic’s administrative personnel. We may use a subset of this information for customised marketing purposes, directly from us to you. Some of this information is classified as sensitive information by the Privacy Act 1993. We make the assumption that in giving this information to us, you consent to it being used for the intended purpose.

We may use or disclose personal information for quality assurance, training, billing, liaising with government offices, ACC, insurance companies & health link regarding payments or rebates.

If you volunteer information for a particular purpose, for example a personal profile, survey, or questionnaire, then this information will be used exclusively for the purpose for which you have provided it.

We are subject to the law like everyone else. We may be required to give information to legal authorities if they so request or if they have the proper authorisation such as a search warrant or court order.
